Rho Ophiuchi – First Attempt

I was able to take my new tracker out for the first time! Conditions were absolutely perfect: not a cloud in the sky, a new moon, and nobody else at the viewing site. After one slight issue over-opening the clutch, it didn’t take long to get the tracker set up and to start shooting! My first object of the night was Rho Ophiuchi. Big lesson: make sure your settings are right BEFORE shooting for an hour and losing your subject behind the trees. Oops! I had this at f/4 instead of f/2.8, so I had to stretch the data a lot farther in post processing than I had hoped. Overall, happy for my first outing! I can’t wait to try it again.
